About the Company

Tonbo Imaging India Limited is a defence electronics original equipment manufacturer (OEM) engaged in the design, development, and manufacturing of sensing, processing, communication and guidance systems for defence and security applications. The company's product portfolio is divided into tactical systems and platform systems. Its products include thermal imaging cores, weapon sights, handheld thermal imaging binoculars, targeting systems, missile seekers, fire control systems, missile guidance systems, and surveillance equipment. These products are used in surveillance, reconnaissance, targeting, and control applications. The company supplies its products to government defence agencies, law enforcement and homeland security agencies, and other defence equipment manufacturers in India and overseas. The company operates an R&D centre in Bengaluru, Karnataka, where it undertakes product design, development and prototyping. It follows an asset-light manufacturing model, outsourcing production to electronics manufacturing services partners, including Kaynes Technology India Limited and Avalon Technology and Services Private Limited. Use of proceeds: The IPO is an offer-for-sale (OFS). The company will not receive any proceeds from the offer. Net proceeds from the offer will go to the selling shareholders in proportion to the number of shares offered by them for sale. The primary objective of the offer is to achieve the benefits of listing the equity shares on the stock exchanges, which is expected to enhance the company’s visibility and brand recognition. Listing will also provide liquidity to the existing shareholders and create a public market for the company’s shares in India.

Pros

  • • As per the F&S Report, Tonbo Imaging India Limited was the largest manufacturer of thermal imaging systems supplied to government and defence agencies in India by sales value between April 2024 and March 2026. The company also accounted for 94% of India's thermal imaging exports by units during this period.
  • • As of June 30, 2026, the company had deployed over 28,000 tactical systems across 24 countries. Its products have been supplied to defence and security customers in markets including India, the USA, Romania, Armenia, South Korea, the UAE, and Australia.
  • • The company claims to own 100% of the intellectual property used in its products since FY24, following the acquisition of intellectual property worth Rs 183.19 crore from CEAQ Singapore in March 2024. Its technologies cover infrared imaging, optics, embedded software, AI-based image processing and electronic systems.

Cons

  • • The company's revenue from operations stood at Rs 428.19 crore, Rs 469.08 crore, and Rs 362.65 crore in FY24, FY25, and FY26, respectively, recording a decline of 22.69% in FY26. The decline was primarily attributed to delays in international orders arising from the West Asia conflict and the deferment of certain anticipated orders to FY27.
  • • The company's top 10 customers contributed Rs 361.81 crore (84.50%), Rs 447.92 crore (95.49%), and Rs 282.22 crore (77.83%) to its revenue from operations in FY24, FY25, and FY26, respectively. Any failure to retain these key customers, expand its customer base, or secure new contracts could adversely affect the company's business and financial standing.
  • • The company's top 10 suppliers accounted for Rs 227.39 crore (67.49%), Rs 132.74 crore (35.46%), and Rs 206.27 crore (68.77%) of its total expenses in FY24, FY25, and FY26, respectively. The company does not have long-term agreements with its raw material suppliers, and any disruption in these relationships could adversely affect its operations.
